Finally for the first time in a month we can talk racing! Let me agree with the rest of the site and give kudos to t.j.! You little man have only one way to go and that looks like trouble for the rest of the class! Congrats on the win and here's to many more, maybe a new big dog is emerging! Racing ah yes Charles….. Jeff was outside I was inside and you went inside inside? Too many insides there! I’m use to a 21 painted on that inside inside car! Hehehehehehe don’t worry your car will look nice with blue paint all over it! Hahahaha and who the hell was driving that car in the feature! Dam got to get me a set of those tires! Lastly to Danielle I have gotten complaints too about the things I say here but a opinion is never wrong remember that it may be only yours but it’s never wrong! There are only 2 people who have any clue what really happened and they are on the track racing! I actually have an example for you: heavy weight figure eight pursuit-the afore mention comments I went in to the turn thinking me and the 7 where in for a ride but it didn’t happen (thank you Charles ha-ha) but I went in to fast and pushed right in to Jeff. How should management see that? How do you know what a driver is thinking in the split second he has to react. When it comes to racing there are 2 sides to every story, or maybe 3 or 4 depends on how many people you ask! But you are right we show up every week because we love the racing how ever it may go! And we all should say what we feel!     P.s. they were mad at me for going high in the turns!

We put on a great show last night...reminded me of the good 'ol days!  To TJ...great job, you drove the wheels off that thing.  I'm really impressed how quickly you've figured it out.  There are guys that have been racing 20 years that still haven't figured it out.  Chad~the "White Whale" was an awesome tribute...regardless of what anyone else says...I think you're a real class-act!  Don't worry Chuck, I always respect the guys I race with~no worries about me trying to take you out.  When I blow by you...I'll be on the outside (lol)!  I think the fans had a good time, I know I did, so thanks to all of you.

Someone wants to run their mouth but yet wont use his or her real name....hmmm,what r u afraid of?Like I said in another post, jealousy is an awful disease, get well soon!!Dont hate them cuz u aint them!!Chad served his suspension and he did what he did cuz enough was enough, and he didnt get "banned"cuz they reconized it as an instigated situation by the other driver(98% of the time it is this driver who causes all the b.s)(big shock there)so if ur gonna run ur mouth, get all the facts first!!Thanks!Have a nice day!!!

I have three favorite drivers of all time. I loved watching Joe Coursen in a car that probably wasnt as good as the rest win championships with it. I still take advice from him today. In street stock my brother was the biggest influence on me. Things he did with his car than and now were amazing. And of course in figuer 8 it has to be chad tekavic. He will race you clean lap after lap in a figure 8 race not get a scratch on his car and win, thats a driver.

GREAT question Drew.  I've been going to Painesville Speedway for as long as I can remember.  As a kid, my brother and I would play Figure 8 with our hotwheels CONSTANTLY.  We would even melt our model cars with a candle to make them look smashed.  Growing up in Grand River you had racecars everywhere you went, so I guess it was engrained in me at a very early age.  When I was in high school I always took a new girlfriend on a date to the track within our first 2 or 3 weeks of going out.  If she loved it I would keep her around.  It wasn't soon after high school that I had my first Figure 8 car and the rest is history.

As far as influences and favorite drivers go, the list would be impressive.  As a youngster, I was a huge fan of #01 Kyle Matteson.  He was always charging thru the pack and fighting for the lead by the end of the race.  I still have a button with a picture of him and his car that I wore every week in the early '80s.  As I got older I really started to become a fan of Herb Reynolds, #93.  He was a very competetive driver who always managed to do a lot with a little.  In my opinion, Herb was one of the most exciting drivers to watch.  I am fortunate to have bought the car, that I currently race, off of him a number of years ago.  The list wouldn't be right if I didn't say that Joe March, THE #21, hasn't been a huge influence on Figure 8 drivers, including myself.  Joe March... What else can you say?  Once I began racing, I would say that by watching, and trying to stay with, both of the Marvin Brothers was a experience in and of itself.  Both of them could wheel ANYTHING that you put them in.  TRUST ME.  I take a lot of pride in the fact that I had, or still have, the opportunity to have raced with most of these drivers.  This list would go on, but I'm just posting a blog, not writing a book.  I believe that I learned from some of the best in the 'School of Hard Knocks'.

Well, the question was 'who was your favorite driver?'  For me this was easy... This guy epitomised SHOWMAN on and off the track.  He was the first to wave to the kids from his famous 'White Whale', and sign an autograph for a fan without rushing you thru.  To this day, I still have a 1984 Painesville Speedway program with his autograph in it.  I don't even have to look at it because I have it memorized.  It reads "To Chad, Good Luck and God Bless, Augie 'The Dog' Landsmann.

Hmmmmm   well drew that’s a tough one for me! Yes I came to Painesville as a kid but honestly the only thing I remember about those days was jumping the tracks on the way home, think the high school years cooked those brain cells! As I got older I made a chose to stay away from racing, didn’t want to catch the bug, but it got me anyways! I must say some of my favorite drivers are the young kids that we have running now. They have lots to learn but I have to give them credit! We are looking at the future with them and when the kids in the grand stands see that then a fire has been lit and the bug bites again!

Well unfricken believable! That’s 3 weeks in a row, with the bye it’s been a month! It’s hard to believe but, as much as it sucks,  I am starting to miss Charles Herman blowing bye me on the outside, the excitement when Chad lets me slide threw the X without ending my season and the extra “help” from Ron on the straightaway. This is almost worst then the off season! 6 days of sun and fun with 1 day of rain, DAM! 4 weeks, I have qualified twice and raced none!!!!! I blame management!!  Hehehehhehehe   just kidding they gave it a hell of a shot tonight but Mother Nature trumps all! Were all getting the itch and bet things will be crazy Saturday if it doesn’t rain AGAIN!

If you dont race you dont understand anything that is going on. The Batemans have been doing there best because they love racing. Just like you and me there hearts are in it and believe me they read all of this and it doesnt impress them. Why does everybody assume that its all there fault. First of the economy is terrible and if you know anything about business the economy has a huge effect on your business. Lorain might have a decent amount of cars but you cant compete unless you have at least 10000 in your car. Im building a street stock and I have 8000 in it without the motor, tranny, and rearend. Thats unbeliveable my dad and I used to deal with what we had and many belived we were cheating but in all honesty there were 15 cars who had more then me when I won my title. I used two sets of tires thats it!!!! I agree with chad when he says that you can sit on the computer all day an complain and attack people if you want but chads won how many championship and ive won one so you have to ask yourself do you really know what you are talking about. Lastly id like to say that the batemans are wonderful people. I just had dinner with them this week. We are all human and unfortunately you cant please everyone.
