Hey I havent been on here in awhile well basically cause nothing ever changes. As far I as I can remember we did race last saturday. Its now friday morning and I stopped in to look at pics and points and read alittle. But wait, six days later and no pics? No points? Nothing new? Anyways I was read through the blogs....I need a good laugh before I start my day! I can honestly say that there are tons of good points on here. But guys and gals let be real...NOBODY oh I am sorry no wait I did mean NOBDOY who needs to read these are actually reading them. I know its a great way to vent and hope to get through but after all that has been said on here has anything changed? Hell come on I even through money out there and nothing from nobody. So to everyone who does write ideas on here I have one good wish for you......if P-ville doesnt want to listen I hope other tracks are reading this and useing your ideas. Atleast this way they will be put to use or atleast considered.

I did read a post by DLOW or something like that about what happened last saturday night. From the bottom of my heart thank you for the nice words. But an even BIGGER THANK YOU!! goes out to Bobby Leland for letting me drive his car. It did give me a big push into second place in the points. There is still some sportsman there at the track however it isnt much more than the Sportsman Division LOL. Sorry guys but its true, I would love to see the sportsman class make a huge comeback but it isnt gonna happen. Once again Thank you to Bobby Leland and his crew for helping us out big time last week.

Now for another piece of news and a thank you. I will be driving this week in a car supplied to us by Rocky Nails. I lot of guys dont like Rocky but you know beside Big Joe, Rocky has always volunteered to help out when I have been in a bind. I want to thank Rocky for the help and the ride this weekend. And to Rocky I cant wait to race against you in the dirt(legally lol) at Raceway 7 next week. Deals between 9-11 Racing and Rocky Nails.....hum has the world come to an end? Lets just say two guys that put up with any shit are stronger than one and teaming together well we will just have to wait and see. Rocky again thanks bud.

As for everyone else well the next two days are gonna be big and some decisions are going to be made here in the next couple of days. We will see what happeneds next.

Hey, how about some marketing ideas. Lets put them all here. Crazy, whacky, good and possibly good marketing ideas should all go here. This way they only have to click on one blog to check out some hopefully great ideas.

I was thinking:

Q: Where do most of the people that know about Painesville Speedway reside?

A: Painesville

Given this, there needs to be marketing outside of Psinesville to bring in new customers. How about a car show in Willoughby, Euclid, Willowick or Wickliffe. Highly populated areas that are about 20 minutes from the track. Its a good previously untargeted area. Anyone at the car show gets a $5 off coupon. Counting the coupons utilized will keep track of the new customers they influenced to come out and watch. Its a great way to build a larger fan base outside the Painesville area.  I would gladly find somebody that would host this. I know lots of people with parking lots to hold the show and I would gladly ask them.

Maybe work with Thompson raceway to get a few drag cars out there too. A race car show. I know you I would check that out. Have some merchandise and set up a promo booth. Great for sponsors too!!!

Are the rules different for the Regular Figure 8 than the Street Stock 8?

I found this rule in the Regular Figure 8 rule book...

e.      AT ANY TIME YOUR CAR GOES FOUR TIRES OFF THE RACING SURFACE DURING THE FEATURE FOR ANY REASON YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED, NO MATER IF YOU ARE PUSHED OFF OR DROVE OFF UNDER YOUR OWN POWER.

I didnt even put that in bold lettering, it was clear as day in the rulebook and meant to stand out. And yes, it was missing in the street stock rule book.

Any car with all four tires off the racing surface must remain in the infield for the remainder of the event or be black flagged.

This comment was pulled directly off the Painesville Speedway Handbook.  Now, i'm not trying to sir the pot, but why did Bo not get black flagged in the figure eight feature when he tried to miss the 96 car?

As the rules say, he should have been out of the race, but instead he was able to continue racing and alter the finishing order of the race.

Finally for the first time in a month we can talk racing! Let me agree with the rest of the site and give kudos to t.j.! You little man have only one way to go and that looks like trouble for the rest of the class! Congrats on the win and here's to many more, maybe a new big dog is emerging! Racing ah yes Charles….. Jeff was outside I was inside and you went inside inside? Too many insides there! I’m use to a 21 painted on that inside inside car! Hehehehehehe don’t worry your car will look nice with blue paint all over it! Hahahaha and who the hell was driving that car in the feature! Dam got to get me a set of those tires! Lastly to Danielle I have gotten complaints too about the things I say here but a opinion is never wrong remember that it may be only yours but it’s never wrong! There are only 2 people who have any clue what really happened and they are on the track racing! I actually have an example for you: heavy weight figure eight pursuit-the afore mention comments I went in to the turn thinking me and the 7 where in for a ride but it didn’t happen (thank you Charles ha-ha) but I went in to fast and pushed right in to Jeff. How should management see that? How do you know what a driver is thinking in the split second he has to react. When it comes to racing there are 2 sides to every story, or maybe 3 or 4 depends on how many people you ask! But you are right we show up every week because we love the racing how ever it may go! And we all should say what we feel!     P.s. they were mad at me for going high in the turns!

Someone wants to run their mouth but yet wont use his or her real name....hmmm,what r u afraid of?Like I said in another post, jealousy is an awful disease, get well soon!!Dont hate them cuz u aint them!!Chad served his suspension and he did what he did cuz enough was enough, and he didnt get "banned"cuz they reconized it as an instigated situation by the other driver(98% of the time it is this driver who causes all the b.s)(big shock there)so if ur gonna run ur mouth, get all the facts first!!Thanks!Have a nice day!!!

I guess there really isnt a right or wrong answer to this one. However, I was going and watching racing at P-ville in tha late 80's when I was still on dirt. I started racing there in 95. I think a better way for me to answer this would be by classes lol. Back in the days of me watching, I think one of my favorite Sportsman Drivers would be Dan Fults. In the present I would have to say I enjoyed watching Chuck Phillips run his sportsman car. In the Trophy Stock back in the day I like the O'Donnells.  Then (and I know I will get slack over this one) I would have to say it was Josh Nysnik. In the current day Tom Herns, he is new still and very hungry. Factory four when it first started I would have to say Bob Boyd. Nowadays Mr. Hayes has a lot of votes. Now for probally the toughest class. Big Dog figure 8. Let me just put the list on here lol. I have really enjoyed watching The Marvins, The Marchs' Chad, and I always enjoyed watching Tim Pierce(RIP) and Rob Raab in his big old Caddy. Way to many drivers to try and think about.

I started attending Painesville Speedway as a kid in the early 90's.  There was one car in particular i always LOVED and that's the Orange #5 Sportsman of Marty Helm.  I loved this car and even one night he crashed on the front stretch and a piece of the fender was up on the wall and i fished it out!!!

As i got into high school i had class with Adam Pierce and his father Tim raced Figure Eight.  So i sort of weasled my way into helping them out every Saturday night.  A couple years after that Tim and Adam both raced there, in 2001 we were thrown out and raced the first 2 seasons at Lake Erie Speedway.  Then in 2004 one of the toughest things i've ever been put through happened...It was the biggest race at LES, the Street Stock Shootout a 35 Lap Feature.  The race was awesome, Tim had the best race of the year, in a year that was hampered by bad luck.  Tim was able to make a last lap pass for second place which gave us our best finish of the year.  However, we were never able to celebrate the moral victory; after the race Tim had suffered a major heart attack in the pits and passed away that night Friday June 18, 2004.

The next day after sitting in the garage with Adam and Jenny (Tim's daughter), we decided to goto Painesville Speedway to watch the Figure Eight feature.  The most shocking and memorable sight i will ever rememeber at the track took place.  Every one of the Figure Eight cars had some type of memorial on the side of the car, whether it was a decal or a rough spray painted #66.  This was the only time i've ever cryed at any racetrack.  It was so nice to know that "my hero" had touched so many lives.

Even today at LES there are a couple cars which have his LES number, #88, on the side of their cars.

Tim was and still is my hero, and that's why i ran #66 and still will continue to have that number in whatever i race or demo derby.
