I started going to painesville in 1985 to watch my uncle tom henderson race, he was my hero. I got hooked early and still am today. I have few drivers who I cheered for as a kid but i do have favorites in each class so i will start with 4cyl. thats my buddy Bo. The spectator driver I loved root for was Tom Odonnell Sr. . He ran the hell out of a car he also was some one who saw past my temper when i was younger to encourage me come back with aclear head and beat'em next time. Sportsstock is tough because i can remember my moms favorite Dan Fults having 2 absolutly amazing seasons , we came to the track to see how many cars he would lap. My all time fav has never been a champ on the points list but, Bob Fatica has always been the sportstock driver I rooted for most. He was a good friend of my dads and has always raced for the right reasons.I still remember making posters for Bob on banner night as a kid. Those of you that know me will be shocked by my choice for figure 8, but my favorites were Gordon Allen and Joe Marsh. In one season i can remember Gordon winning like 13 features in a row. This was with 20 plus cars in the features and 10 to 15 consi cars! Joe just gave us a show weather he was wheeling his malibu wagon around the pack like a man with a mission or just crossing the x with no rguard for who might cross in front. I really have alot of respect for the old school guys.
