ok! well here it goes from what i was told..... Jim the guy that does the site for the batemens was told to take the blog offline because of foul mouths ( cusing ) but from what i can see the only thing thats getting tossed around in here more than a hot potato is jimmy cohagen. now as for points, and being updated jason has not givin anything to jim, there is no and i mean NO points available because someone is on vaction. the only points that are available are sometime in june and i dont even know where im at last i knew i was in 4th but you cant tell. As for all this unless something straitens up this WILL be my last week, theres too much drama, and when the second fastest car baged it in quilifying to win this hours 16:25 is fast and i was going nowhere except hanging out in the back.

(When I tried to post a response to the previous post, I got a 'System thought it was spam' message.  Wonder if this has to do with the Technical Difficulties?)

Yep, was there on Saturday.  We lucked out - no rain and a beautiful night for racing.

The crowd was the usual turnout - pretty sparse.  Seemed like the usual turnout for drivers as well.  There was definitely some good racing with a couple of photo finishes.  Also a lot of disqualifications when I think about it - Van Dalen was DQ'd for illegal tires, another Factory-4 driver was DQ'd for having a rearview mirror, and Jeff Marvin was penalized for rough driving at the end of the Figure-8.

Mike Reed (sp?) had to borrow Bill Welch's 51 car for the night, so that was fun to watch.  Also, from reading Thumper's blog, Bill Rabbits borrowed a car from Rocky Nails, so he was getting the hang of it.  TJ won another heat race, but got passed almost immediately on the Pursuit and ended up toward the back of the pack in the feature.

They had to cancel the photo/autograph intermission session due to oncoming bad weather, but several of the drivers made it to the ticket booth and signed autographs anyways.  They are still promoting the rollover contest for this weekend and a second camper pull Figure-8 for the last racing weekend.  Looks like they are keeping it to campers only this time, and if you can provide a car, they will provide a camper.  We are trying to convince my father-in-law to enter!

Well, I back-doored my way in to the blogs, but the main entrance is masked off for 'Technical Difficulties'.  What the heck?  I was hoping to read reactions from some of the drivers to this past weekend's racing.  I hope this is not a knee-jerk reaction to things said on here.

Hey I havent been on here in awhile well basically cause nothing ever changes. As far I as I can remember we did race last saturday. Its now friday morning and I stopped in to look at pics and points and read alittle. But wait, six days later and no pics? No points? Nothing new? Anyways I was read through the blogs....I need a good laugh before I start my day! I can honestly say that there are tons of good points on here. But guys and gals let be real...NOBODY oh I am sorry no wait I did mean NOBDOY who needs to read these are actually reading them. I know its a great way to vent and hope to get through but after all that has been said on here has anything changed? Hell come on I even through money out there and nothing from nobody. So to everyone who does write ideas on here I have one good wish for you......if P-ville doesnt want to listen I hope other tracks are reading this and useing your ideas. Atleast this way they will be put to use or atleast considered.

I did read a post by DLOW or something like that about what happened last saturday night. From the bottom of my heart thank you for the nice words. But an even BIGGER THANK YOU!! goes out to Bobby Leland for letting me drive his car. It did give me a big push into second place in the points. There is still some sportsman there at the track however it isnt much more than the Sportsman Division LOL. Sorry guys but its true, I would love to see the sportsman class make a huge comeback but it isnt gonna happen. Once again Thank you to Bobby Leland and his crew for helping us out big time last week.

Now for another piece of news and a thank you. I will be driving this week in a car supplied to us by Rocky Nails. I lot of guys dont like Rocky but you know beside Big Joe, Rocky has always volunteered to help out when I have been in a bind. I want to thank Rocky for the help and the ride this weekend. And to Rocky I cant wait to race against you in the dirt(legally lol) at Raceway 7 next week. Deals between 9-11 Racing and Rocky Nails.....hum has the world come to an end? Lets just say two guys that put up with any shit are stronger than one and teaming together well we will just have to wait and see. Rocky again thanks bud.

As for everyone else well the next two days are gonna be big and some decisions are going to be made here in the next couple of days. We will see what happeneds next.

Money helps. Dont get me wrong. Knowledge and experience will beat money every time.  I have spent a friggin boatload of money trying to keep up with the big kahunas this year. And wasted a boatload of money on things that didnt help a bit. Even hurt my times and speed. I thank the people that have been helping me with my set ups and telling me what the hell im doing wrong. There is so much to know its crazy.  Wish i knew at the begining of the season what i know now, and i still dont know that much. Take a look at whos the fast ones in each division. They are fast because they have been doing this for years and KNOW how to go fast. There are always people who spend more money on their cars then others and it does help im sure. But spend all the money you want, if u cant set up the car and wheel the freaking thing then you will get passed by the poor guy that knows how to set the car up and the skill to match it.

Hey, how about some marketing ideas. Lets put them all here. Crazy, whacky, good and possibly good marketing ideas should all go here. This way they only have to click on one blog to check out some hopefully great ideas.

I was thinking:

Q: Where do most of the people that know about Painesville Speedway reside?

A: Painesville

Given this, there needs to be marketing outside of Psinesville to bring in new customers. How about a car show in Willoughby, Euclid, Willowick or Wickliffe. Highly populated areas that are about 20 minutes from the track. Its a good previously untargeted area. Anyone at the car show gets a $5 off coupon. Counting the coupons utilized will keep track of the new customers they influenced to come out and watch. Its a great way to build a larger fan base outside the Painesville area.  I would gladly find somebody that would host this. I know lots of people with parking lots to hold the show and I would gladly ask them.

Maybe work with Thompson raceway to get a few drag cars out there too. A race car show. I know you I would check that out. Have some merchandise and set up a promo booth. Great for sponsors too!!!

Never BITE the hand that feeds you! (For MANAGEMENT only) If you bought the track just to funnel money back and forth between two companies in order to hide profits from the I.R.S thats your business but keep racing out of it. Please see Gordon Allen for all information on Car Count, Paid Attendance, Pit Passes, and Food Sales. then match them up with the same things mention for today (I BET THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE). Failures can be blamed on several different things For Example Painesville Speedway would like to blame their FAILURES on the struggling economy. Anyone who owns a t.v. will tell you the economy is in a slump, but the economy has nothing to do with LOW CAR COUNT or LOW FAN SUPPORT. 99% of the people who were a part of PAINESVILLE SPEEDWAY Lived within a 15 mile radius of that track. FAILURES are created by a Person and or People who decide that they can and will take over something they have no clue about, bringing in a former driver is not the answer either. THE ANSWER IS THE FANS, THE DRIVERS, THE CREW MEMBERS. We (My team and I) went to Painesville Speedway every Saturday Night to put on a show for the FANS talk to and hang out with friends Help other teams FOR THE FANS. It was a great feeling watching all the teams get ready for the night FOR THE FANS. Not one time did we EVER think we were better than anyone else, several times we were the fastest but it NEVER crossed our minds that we were better then everyone else. When you believe that you are better than everyone else then no matter what advice your given or suggestions are made then you feel that you should not listen to it (EXAMPLE IS PAINESVILLE SPEEDWAY) Do the FANS DRIVERS AND CREW MEMBERS A FAVOR AND LET SOMEONE WHO HAS A CLUE RUN THE RACING PART OF THAT HISTORIC TRACK AND SIT BACK A COUNT YOU MONEY. NO FANS NO CARS EQUALS NO MONEY

well first off let me apologize to tucker 53 for my drivers actions. I was supposed to run that car in the camper pull. with that being said he will not be driving for me the rest of the season. Now as for the accident I got out of my car in the infield after the flag was dropped to run and make sure dylan was ok. with that being said I see why painesville has no drivers, the comment that was said to at that moment pissed me off so much to just load it up and not come back. but why does jason have to say well if you DONT like it here go somewhere else. thats tne most retarded thing you could say when that driver is tne one buying tires and racing at your track. and jason I hope you do read this I seriously want you to apologize before I bring my 2 cars back up to your track. what you said was needed it but the extra part was uncalled for rude and unneeded. I DONT care if im 4th or 20th that's how to make drivers leave. and now the only reason im even thinking of comming out there this week is my sister wants to try to race before she leaves for college. I hope to see my fans at the track on sat sincerly melvin martin 68

I have been coming since 2005 and never really got to experience the Allens owning the track. I really wish i would have experienced them owning it. I come every Saturday and as I look around I’m depressed about the size of the crowd and the amount of cars racing. My friend showed me an old pamphlet from mid 90's (I think that’s about right), well anyways just in trophy stock alone there were 30 cars racing. I couldn’t believe it and then I found out that the parking lot used to be packed and you would have to park in the field next to the track! I look at it now and you probably have 30 cars all together. I look at the parking lot and it isn’t nearly half way packed. I also learned the Gordon gave kids jobs there to so they could be around the track, and he actually took care of the stands and the grass/weeds. What happened to this racetrack, to me it looks like it is going down the drain. Maybe it’s the owners, maybe the gas prices, maybe Jimmy or maybe it’s how the fans, drivers and workers are treated. I believe it could be all of these things and I also believe maybe just maybe the owners see this as a business instead of a racetrack. Well whatever it is this is SAD. It seems like the people in charge don’t care about what we think, so why write this maybe somewhere out there someone who can make a difference will actually listen to us and help Painesville Speedway out!

The secret to success at Painesville Speedway is not that secret.  But has apparently eluded the current management for some time now.    They are certainly not DUMB, I realize in order to put yourself in a position to purchase the speedway, they must be intelligent businessmen.  In my humble opinion mistakes are just that mistakes, if one learns from them, they will make a better person out of you.  One that recognizes what went wrong and makes the necessary corrections to prevent the same outcome.   The definition of INSANITY is-- doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.   STOP doing the same thing!!!!!!

1. Admit your mistakes

2.Decide if you truly want to be in the Race World

3. (this one maybe tough) Be Honest!!!  Be fare,  be firm

4. get to know your clientele, drivers, crews, fans

5. appreciate what they bring to the table IE. heart, dedication, desire,  family!!!

6. DO NOT i repeat DO NOT talk down to anyone, they are not beneath you (the balance in there checking account has no bearing on there character)

7. get some rules,   make them clear, stick to them!!!

8. Maintain your facility,  if you expect folks to be proud of racing at your track,  SHOW some pride yourself!

9. accept constructive criticism,   with a smile    not  "if you don't like it you can load your shit and go"

10. lastly make your apologies, (lord knows they are owed) ask for forgiveness   and move forward!!!  I humble man is a smart man

Painesville Speedway can and will be full to capacity every weekend.  If and only IF management  truly wants it to be.    The drivers, crews as well as the fans of PS,  in my experience, are truly some of the finest people i have ever had the privilege of knowing.             get to know them!!!!!!!!!!!!!      you just might like them.

HONESTY will breed respect,  without  respect you will fail  garanteed!!!
